Dalia Ziada tells the story behind Cairo Human Rights Film Festival

Last year, coinciding with 60th anniversary of Universal Declaration on Human Rights, I had the pleasure to hold the first film festival about human rights in the history of the Middle East: Cairo Human Rights Film Festival. The sponsor of CHRFF 2008 was the American Islamic Congress, which I work for as the director of North Africa Bureau.

The efforts exerted to make this festival a success despite all obstacles is told in this short, but amazing, film.

This year, in December 2009, we will hold CHRFF 2009, do not miss it. Visit our website: www.cairofilm.org to learn more about the past festival and read the latest updates on the upcoming one.
